Meet Ida Hatchue
Ida Hatchue is a speaker, business leader, and advocate who believes that our circumstances do not have to define our futures.
Having experienced years of childhood sexual abuse and the traumatic loss of both parents at a young age, Ida understands firsthand the challenges of navigating adversity. Through sharing her personal journey, she seeks to inspire others to recognize their own strength, embrace the importance of community and support, and believe in the possibility of a fulfilling life beyond trauma.
For years, Ida shared her story with students, educators, and community audiences, including through her work with Rape Trauma Services. Her message centers on the belief that moving from victim to survivor to thriver is possible, and that healing and growth do not have to follow a linear path.
Beyond her personal story, Ida brings experience in business, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership. She earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and began her career in technology investment banking at Barclays. She later co-founded KARL, a startup focused on helping couples build meaningful connections through personalized experiences. Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff at Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland, where she helped lead strategic initiatives, strengthen organizational operations, and expand opportunities for young people.
Today, Ida draws on both her personal and professional experiences to speak about resilience, overcoming adversity, leadership, career development, and navigating life's transitions.
Whether addressing students, emerging professionals, corporate teams, or community organizations, Ida's goal is to leave audiences with a renewed sense of possibility and the understanding that their past does not have to dictate their future.
